Lluvia Monarrez
At California State University, Long Beach, Lluvia I. Monarrez received her Bachelors of Arts degrees in Communication Studies Emphasis in Rhetorical Studies and in Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies. Lluvia was part and held several positions of several organizations on campus such as member of The Communication Studies Association Secretary of CHLS, Chicano and Latino Studies Student Association and Member of SSSP, Student Support Services Program.

The most important aspect in her life is Family. Her father is originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco and her mother was born and raised in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua . However, both her parents met in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua . Where later Lluvia lived and grew up on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border in the surrounding areas of Juarez, Chihuahua, Mx. and El Paso, Texas, U.S. and later moved to California.

As well as Family, Lluvia feels that fighting for social justice is one of her main reasons here on earth. To fight and help individuals that cannot fight for themselves. Although she might not have all the solutions to solve everyone's social, economic or political problems she feels that through a process success can be achieved. That throughout knowledge and resources things that are unknown can be known and opportunities to those that do not have them can be created.

Lluvia currently serves as the Sigma Theta Psi, Inc. Tax advisor as well as the National Board Judicial Assistant. She strongly feels that Sigma Theta Psi, Inc. should be part of the California State University, Long Beach institution and pledges to herself and other Sisters that STP will be part of CSULB. Lluvia continues to believe that as one or two or three doors close there are four windows that open up. With that perspective in life she feels that nothing is impossible rather possible.

Ultimately: What is life if you do not enjoy it with your loved ones (The World)

PAZ Y AMOR.
