One of the main pillars of Sigma Theta Psi Sorority, Inc. is academic excellence. As a group of women whose shared goal is to gain knowledge and pursue their aspirations by means of education, we focus on ensuring Sisters are realizing their full academic potential. All active Sisters are required to maintain a minimum grade point average as part of their demonstration to scholastic dedication. We frequently support each other in our rigorous academic course loads through study groups, tutoring sessions, and academic mentoring in our own chapters. Sisters are encouraged to strive for the highest level of academic achievement through scholarships, fellowships, research awards, honors programs, and pursuing graduate degrees. Upon graduating, we continue to exemplify strength and leadership in a number of different professions, from positions in the non-profit sector, to higher education, in Wall Street and in companies abroad. The Sisters of Sigma Theta Psi Sorority, Inc. are also strongly committed to promoting educational advancement for their local communities, and many chapters participate in youth-centered community service activities and community fundraising. We feel that is important to empower women and communities everywhere thorough education and sharing a wealth of knowledge.
